The Old Siam
Depicts simple way of Thai village life when Thailand was known as Siam. There are 11 scenes in the series; Floating Market, Sunday Market, Rafting, Harvest, Paddy-Field, Rice Pounding, Rice Kneading, Picking Fruit, Picking Lotus, Fishtrap and Fishing. The paintings are distinctive with metallic color background, embossed golden lines and vivid colors.
I started to paint the Old Siam because I was missing my mom and Thailand. She was also an artist who painted about Thai villagers. As years go by, I continue painting because it makes me happy. My painting is me, daring, bold, bright and expressive. Portland has become my home, but I will never forget where I came from. Thailand will always be in my heart. no matter how long I have left.
The Old Siam is " The dose of nostalgia. It reminds me of my root, my childhood and my mom."
